I met a girl from Union Square
She said, “The hibiscus is in my hair
It’s hot in the summertime, it’s drying up
I’ve been seeing mirages like dreaming
My mind is dizzy, busy drinking
The water dripping from towers
My mind is rapt, dancing in the greenmarket
The mixture of flowers”
I met a girl from Union Square (Samantha Blurrrrr)

I met a girl from Union Square (Samantha Blurrrrr)
Miss Samantha Blurrrrr (from Union Square)
An enigma found through history
People come and go to the Square of Union
In search of the pearls of the city
There’s reminisce, there’s talk
In the center, like the coliseum
No one comes to blows, the quivers full of delight
She’s a butterfly getting along with the bees
She’s there outside in the park
On the bench in the square, in sight
She learned to crawl then walk with her mouth
A broken faucet, it’s running answers to questions
She mends caring, sharing, a dynamic fountain

She introduces herself, as one who walks beneath the surface
Spiritually deep, parallel, Ocean’s teacher, Miss Samantha Blurrrrr
She goes on escapades in Union Square
When it’s cold, when it’s warmer
Than hot springs and saunas
In the daylight, dark night
Union Square larks, she hangs around in the caldisack
Speaking with vendors and hit or miss walkabouts
She’s casual, dancing in the diversity of flowers
Looking to see and learn something, meet someone new
No one takes dollars for what she’s interested
She’s built up karma, found some excitement
It’s beautiful, mind enlightening, nice drama
Her river flows to the east to the coast

Whisper this, whisper that
Condolences, uneasy
Dressed in mustache
Matched with glasses
Champagne and wine and dine
Mumble fiction, mumble fact
Speak the creed, scribble treaties
Mumble quiet, mumble loud
Crystal clear, so they hear
Not too high – pitch the sound
Careful with how it appears
Smile, cheese
Greedy, yes, no, maybe so
Come on please
Show the crowds, they’re your peers
Oooh, ahhh, woah, uh oh, oh no
They know, no one is
No one can be a flawless pro
We’re all monkeys, quit judging
Darwin was right, we’re all monkeys
Yeah son, we’re all lucky
Funky Johnny Yoyo is marching
Everyone’s watching
Funky Johnny Yoyo
He’s heating up
Funky Johnny Yoyo aren’t we lucky
We’re all monkeys
The peers are poking
Asking questions by the millions
Are you happy, are you pleased?
Is your head in the clouds?
Recollection, thoughts are said
Memories are mixed, everything’s lessened
Unheard, unlearned, crazy thorns
Questions on repeat
Are you happy, are you pleased?
Is your head in the clouds?
Answer silent, it is golden, the bars are cold
The lock is frozen, the cage is getting old
Don’t you worry, don’t you cry, it’s all for show
Funky Johnny Yoyo has arrived
It’s almost over now
He’s here, made your momma
Made her super proud
Funky Johnny Yoyo
He’s heating up
He hears, he calms
He disarms the bombs
Funky Johnny Yoyo
He’s heating up
He’s hopping fences
White picket, stereotypical sixties
Barb wired, even electric
Rocking, he’s like Dennis
Funky Johnny Yoyo the menace
Without the threat
Not of the administration, disobedient
Makes you think, only for ten seconds
Then longer, harder, until you got it
Coincidence he does only well
Whoever, whatever, wherever, whenever
Why-ever, that’s messed up
However, that’s better
Forever is way too long
It’s over, roll the credits
He’s heating up
Funky Johnny Yoyo
Throw him an Oscar, a Grammy
He was on MTV, that’s his Emmy
It’s Funky Johnny Yoyo time
He hears, he calms
He’s here to
Disarm the bomb
Automatically trained
When he falls he climbs
Time after time
He’s like a brain
Coming high, coming low
Walk the dog, rock that cradle
Intensity is pouncing
The pressures mounting
Ears are bleeding
Heads are bobbing
Bodies are bouncing
They’re heating up
They’re taking off
Pity pretty, pretty pity
Do not worry, no one’s busy
No one’s lying, no one’s vanished
Everyone’s circling over his head
Watching Funky Johnny Yoyo like a hawk
Funky Johnny Yoyo
He’s heating up
He hears, he calms
He disarms the bombs
Funky Johnny Yoyo
He’s heating up

I’m headed back up the mountain
We soared down
Back up the mountain
We turn down
In between trees
We ride within
Aspens and pines
We spray on
Back up the mountain
We live on
The white
We float on
Down to the open coast
And its waves
You can find me soon
Along the horizon
Where land, sky, and sea bend
Together into a sheer silhouette
You’ll find me when waves break
No matter the weather
Where waves break
When the time comes
I’ll trek on down
Back to home once again
To the lighthouse from where the light sends
When leaves burn with red
Fall to the ground
Brown ash filling the road-beds
In place of rosebuds
I’ll follow the petals
Glide into the river
Float downstream
To and from ecstasy
I’ll lie in the pampas
Between the beach and peak
Await twilight’s arrival
Beneath the moonlight
Counting the spots on the stars
The craters of the moon
Stay until the rooster crows
Life is awake, asleep, a dream
I’m complacent
Where the sky, mountains and shore
Meet without a seam
You can find me soon
Along the horizon
Where land, sky, and sea bend
Together into a sheer silhouette
You’ll find me when waves break
No matter the weather
Where waves break
When the mountainside is white
I’ll be back up by sun’s rise
And I’ll enjoy the time of the day
Riding in the clouds
Surrounded by stumps, branches, leaves
Lost in empty woods
Cliff dropping trips
The looming night
Compels me to descend
From the freezing and frightened
Smothered and wind blown trees
Listening to the crash
On the rocks
I escape to stay
Stay to escape
In the sun, snow, or rain
Where peaks, trees, clouds, and water bend
Together into a sheer silhouette
When waves break
Where waves break
You can find me soon
Along the horizon
Where land, sky, and sea bend
Together into a sheer silhouette
You’ll find me when waves break
No matter the weather
Where waves break
