I’m headed back up the mountain
We soared down
Back up the mountain
We turn down
In between trees
We ride within
Aspens and pines
We spray on
Back up the mountain
We live on
The white
We float on
Down to the open coast
And its waves
You can find me soon
Along the horizon
Where land, sky, and sea bend
Together into a sheer silhouette
You’ll find me when waves break
No matter the weather
Where waves break
When the time comes
I’ll trek on down
Back to home once again
To the lighthouse from where the light sends
When leaves burn with red
Fall to the ground
Brown ash filling the road-beds
In place of rosebuds
I’ll follow the petals
Glide into the river
Float downstream
To and from ecstasy
I’ll lie in the pampas
Between the beach and peak
Await twilight’s arrival
Beneath the moonlight
Counting the spots on the stars
The craters of the moon
Stay until the rooster crows
Life is awake, asleep, a dream
I’m complacent
Where the sky, mountains and shore
Meet without a seam
You can find me soon
Along the horizon
Where land, sky, and sea bend
Together into a sheer silhouette
You’ll find me when waves break
No matter the weather
Where waves break
When the mountainside is white
I’ll be back up by sun’s rise
And I’ll enjoy the time of the day
Riding in the clouds
Surrounded by stumps, branches, leaves
Lost in empty woods
Cliff dropping trips
The looming night
Compels me to descend
From the freezing and frightened
Smothered and wind blown trees
Listening to the crash
On the rocks
I escape to stay
Stay to escape
In the sun, snow, or rain
Where peaks, trees, clouds, and water bend
Together into a sheer silhouette
When waves break
Where waves break
You can find me soon
Along the horizon
Where land, sky, and sea bend
Together into a sheer silhouette
You’ll find me when waves break
No matter the weather
Where waves break
