tahoerocks
(dylan allread)

Up around the end from here
I thought I had the time to stay
My fingers are wrapped in the length
My legs are shaking in the mirror
Just yesterday it was the first, the second is today, got to stop skipping to the end
My eyes won’t ever see clear
Clearer with the clouds of clay
Clouds can change, so can I

I don’t feel the need
I don’t feel the need to stay
It’s about time I go
It’s about seventy days to the date
Leaving for what I don’t know
Destination seven-ohhh
Seven-ohhh

It just so happens
I know, I know
Like the name of my own dog
Right to the head the arrow of know-ledge goes
Throwing knives in the rain
To the end of the row
The dartboard of today
Slipping visuals into the brain
To the end of the road, seven-ohhh
The future’s not sewn

You always say, you know, you know
Tell me why
Why, your lips don’t make a sound
The future, no one knows
You lie to the stains of time
Your past shows in your eyes
A lantern in the night
The projector is throwing sense of fear
Up against a brick wall
A portrait of your years falling apart
The bricks aren’t the support
The wall’s built too low
A pile of dust below the moon
I’ll just go, destination seven-ohhh

I don’t feel the need
I don’t feel the need to stay
It’s about time I go
It’s about seventy days to the date
Leaving for what I don’t know
Destination seven-ohhh
Seven-ohhh

Things are just like they used to be
The stack is worn thin
It could be the end if I don’t make the right move
The lights are blinking
Caution for delight
You’ll open your arms
Just like you always do
I’m headed for something new
I’m headed for something new
Destination seven-ohhh
Destination seven-ohhh
Seven-ohhh, seven-ohhh

We drive to the river’s edge
To sit around
There are rocks and logs
Watch the water move on
Can we drive higher
I don’t know anything more
You share it all
When we were young
When we were on the shore

The water is cold
Can we get out and go back home
I think you’re right
I think you’re right
There’s a fork in the road
There’s a fork in the road

We used to sit and talk
Our ears used to spark
I think you’re right
The plugs went dead
And there’s nothing left ahead

Yeah, yeah, yeah
You’re definitely not wrong
That river was a shallow pond
The future was grim
The light was dim
The past dropped out from under our feet
Quicker than a lily pad down a waterfall
Do you hear the frogs
My head is empty
Wiser than the frogs
We don’t have a thought left

We used to sit and talk
Our ears used to spark
I think you’re right
The plugs went dead
And there’s nothing left ahead

We take it to the river’s mouth
Let’s hear it from the heart
The rainbow trout
Jumping for more
Think of the quickness
It has drifted by
The future is gone
And the wood will never be found
It’s not for me
It’s not for you
I think you’re right
I think you’re right
I think you’re right
I’ll get out here and walk

The monkeys are mimes
The scarecrows and birds high five
The book doesn’t rhyme
Two shoes, a different size
Give me more miscommunication
And learn

They’re all talking about something different
Everyone’s affected, ears dipped in obsession
Then it turns vacation
Nothing gets done until December
Back to square one
Nothing is done
Right?
Give me more miscommunication

There are no fish and sharks on the ground
People are swimming off course in the ocean
Two sides could be part of a town
But fins and gills aren’t efficient between blades of grass
Sneakers are soaked in salt water
Everyone, everything is wearing thin
Getting grown on information
Flap your arms towards the destination

Bridge the gap
Cause you can only jump so far
Not everyone makes it on their first attempt
On their own
Watch your temper
More than once it gets better with time
Don’t let the feeling, the connections die
Give me more miscommunication

Bridge the gap
Between winter and summer
Gloomy and bright weather
Silent snow and shining sun
Bridge the gap between July and December

Everyone’s got to accept
Got to learn, got to know, got to get a little better
Bridge the gap
Everyone’s better together

Scarecrows can be friends with anything, anyone
The crows just got to know
They scare, are a product of the oxygen that’s fed to their heads
Crafted by devilish hands
That can’t do it on their own
Got no time to scare away their annoyances, worried about the cyclical weather
Predicted by that historical November

They won’t shoot them out of the sky
Scarecrows are just waiting on the winds
Waiting in line
They want to move
An inch and cherish the sensation
From cloud nine to the daily grind
Hike the trestle from the east to the west side
Run at the sound of the horn
The sun shines
Hibernation
Think of sitting still
Next to you
Sitting next to you
Give me more miscommunication

Bridge the gap
Between winter and summer
Gloomy and bright weather
Silent snow and shining sun
Bridge the gap between July and December

Everyone’s got to accept
Got to learn, got to know, got to get a little better
Bridge the gap
Everyone’s better together

Shake everyone until they’re up
Crack open the foghorn
Walk around from house to home
The rooster won’t wake
Wolves found him
For heavens sake
How’s the town going to relate
When no one will wake
Bridge the gap
We’re close to the same
A scarecrow and crow high five from July through December
Hang together
Give me more miscommunication
Bridge the gap
Make it all better

The Algea hide beside a winding trail
In the woods congested with bushes and weeds
Their eyes peek between sticks from behind stones
Camouflaged by the foliage
The yellow in your eyes
Misguides, steering clear
Has the feeling scurrying with fear

It’s that energy, bright yellow
Grabs the attention and cautions
Feelings influenced positively, reflected negatively
As bees fly, they must have wings
Remixes sadness to happiness
Yellow, our friendship, from two to one
Now the only blues I see
When we’re not one
Lost as two
Only for a moment
Back from your trip
My atonement, your eyes
As they display
Both dark and light, a soft blue
Has the power to calm
Unnerved, this tranquility
Relieves any need
Allows truth and confidence
Honestly

You’ve got tie-dyed eyes
Sunglasses, Ohhh please remove
A collection of cares
Visions clear and pure
Fantastic tie-dyed eyes
Your tie-dyed eyes

You’ve got tie-dyed eyes
Fantastic tie-dyed eyes
Your tie-dyed eyes

It’s a wonderful day
For a picnic at the park
Until it’s night we’ll sit and lay
By the pond
Calm, smooth as glass
Filled with the water blue
The sun’s shining all around
Our reflection seen
Glowing green
Your eyes painted olive
The traditional color of peace
We must be safe
As nature, green grows
Yellow into orange
It stimulates my mind
Handing strength and endurance
I’m encouraged, we’ll succeed
In a future crayoned purple
With no set structure
A mystery, unforeseen
But with a little ambition
And our wisdom
Everything will come to be

You’ve got tie-dyed eyes
Sunglasses, Ohhh please remove
A collection of cares
Visions clear and pure
Fantastic tie-dyed eyes
Your tie-dyed eyes

You’ve got tie-dyed eyes
Fantastic tie-dyed eyes
Your tie-dyed eyes

The Keres are-stalking me
As I walk they follow
Pick up pace, sprint, run into you
No fear, you’re now here
A superhero with no need for a cape
Special power, tie-dyed eyes
Contain red, no shade dark
Light shines your direction
Refraction, change of speed
It bends my way
From your eye to mine
I get clout on the red that’s light
Love, passion, and sensitivity
Fends off the mischievously in search
You’ve transformed our orange
Turned it a bright red
Now winter time
White all over the ground
It’s a white that resides in the tie-dye
Demonstrates goodness instilled
Perfection, a characteristic only held by a few
