I bought my ticket today
What a price I paid
I nearly gave up my head
I nearly lost all whole
What a waste, what a waste
I didn’t have a book to read
My hands couldn’t write anymore
Haven’t felt the world
Since you stood in that door
I’ve got to tell you
I’d have done it for you
I’d have done it for you
I’ve got unsorted strings
And now I need you more
You’re my oasis
I need you here
I’ve got unsorted strings
And now I need you more
You’re my oasis
I need you here
I bought a shirt today
The graphic twisted and turned
A tree reaching for its fallen leaves
Blowing from piles in the wind
It reminded me to burn every minute living every last word that I say
That it takes some heading in the wrong direction
To start anew on a burning road
I won’t say a word
I won’t say a word
Unless I want it to the end
I’ve got unsorted strings
And now I need you more
You’re my oasis
I need you here
I’ve got unsorted strings
And now I need you more
You’re my oasis
I need you here
Lately I found
I’ve been wandering
Aimless, life isn’t the same
Tripping over untied shoelaces
Around crowded chaos
I’m looking for the oasis
Before I burn to exhaustion
Time’s running out
Time’s running out
The street lights are shattered
Asphalt and glass
My feet are scuffed
Touched with pain
It’ll get worse after dark
And the sun’ll be going down
Every night, every night
I’ve got unsorted strings
And now I need you more
You’re my oasis
You’re my oasis
You’re my oasis
I need you here
