Everyday I converse
With natives and foreigners
Today I saw a Hearse
While I toke the smoke
From a cigar
A mom was stoked
Her newborn was delivered
And that kid’s going to make it far
Everest, he’ll be Sherpa hard
It’s sad some are
Lemmings, lemons like cars
And that life’s not the like of golf
Who, ever shoots for under par
I know I grew up
Sleeping below glow – in – the – dark stars
Next to a dream catcher
So I could finger pick
Nightmares when I wanted a scare
Candles lit with wavering wicks
I learned it’s hard to beat a hare
Unless you’re a tortoise
Moving along to a slow and steady noise
Cause there are accidental collisions
Intersections of missions
Girls and boys
There is light and dark
Diamonds and hearts
Whispers or rhetoric
A divided world
Life, it’s all poetic

I can’t believe
You’re asking me
But I guess for you
I’ll be that one
When you’re a kid
Helping you up after falls
I’ll be that one
When you’re a lost soul
Helping you find the waterfalls
I’ll be that one
When others say you’re crazy
Running with you down the halls
I’ll be that one
At your beck – n – call
Cause I like when you shine like the sun
I liked it so much when you won
So beckon or call
I’ll be there
At your beck – n – call

This decade feels good
Even after two thousand nine
The year of travel
Over Longitude
And Latitude Lines
Where I went
NYC, Tahoe, OKC and Steamboat Springs
First Class to Paris
Lost in the Louvre
Found the Lion at Duomo in Milan
I hopped train – cars to car – less towns
Skied the Swiss Alps
With views better than Aspen
Homage to Lucerne, Zurich and Interlaken
A Long weekend in B.A., S.A.
Buenos Dias
Overnight to Oslo
On the Flamsbana after a voyage
Through the fjords
To the fisherman’s town, Bergen
There were more cities
And towns in between
It was good while it lasted
But stand-by flights R.I.P.
Rest in Peace Two Thousand Nine
