Cheers To Getting Grown by Shere Akrhan

I’m saluting the National
Until the dead of night
Standing still as a statue
On bending light
I know clouds come and go
I just thought I might
Wave and say hello
I just thought I might
Wave and say hello
Cheers to getting grown
Cheers to getting grown

Today got shoved
Between me and you
When the sun will melt
The mountains up above
Mores and tongue we felt
The talons of the Dove
Patched together on a quilt
Is it enouuuuughh
Or is the fabric gonna wilt
Till the morning sun
To the lonely one
And sweetly it is sung
With honey in the lungs

I went from that wicked witch
To that precious peach
Deadly digging a ditch
To that princess catch
Amaze, amazing feel
Amaze, amazing sense
Beneath the filthy peel
Over the rusty fence
Amaze, amazing quench

Beneath the stairs was covered
By a dress and veil
The unspoken words hovered
Behind the face colored pale
Can I have another second
To try to pry the nail
Impression, depression, dent
I circle around my tail
And the letter is sent
Through the mail
Shall we go for a cup of tea in repent
Present the wind for the hollow sail

I went from that wicked witch
To that precious peach
Deadly digging a ditch
To that princess catch
Amaze, amazing feel
Amaze, amazing sense
Beneath the filthy peel
Over the rusty fence
Amaze, amazing quench

I’m saluting the National
Until the dead of night
Standing still as a statue
On bending light
I know clouds come and go
I just thought I might
Wave and say hello
I just thought I might
Wave and say hello
Cheers to getting grown
Cheers to getting grown
