December three-oh of eighty-four
Akron’s King was born
Hours later the calendar was torn
Down and a New Year begun
March one-five of eighty-five
I stepped foot on rubber ground
Akron bred with Tiger pride
The four, four, three – oh – three
Aqueduct and Evergreen
We played foot hockey
A knuckle puck down the street
From the crowned elementary
And on Memorial we used to adventure
Walking on trestles, we were fools
Running by boarded up windows, pit-bulls and pinchers
Young and restless chasing the Ice Cream Man
Down asphalt and brick boulevards
Doing whatever we can
Cause we were bored playing in boxes of sand
And to us kids it seemed far
We left our parents in the dark
Today you wouldn’t think to take a car
Like the trees, I’ve shed many layers of bark
And Akron is always in my heart

Tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m all red
Tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m dressed
In tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m repping Akron
In tiger stripes and tire treads

I was eager to fly as a golden falcon
My wings were spread but we left that nest
Went MIA, Missing In Action
My dad sold Prodex
Cause the price was right
Two year’s in paradise
Vacations are always tight
Except, it’s tiring living lazy
And South Beach is insane
That place is crazy
So we drove through night and day
CMH, Came Most-of-the-way Home
Never made it back close enough
To grab, have and own
And the King still holds his throne
He’ll miss it if he decides to be NYC gone
Cause there’s not one day I forget about Ak – ron
And I’m not laughing
Maybe, baby, maybe, baby that’s just me
I’m always Akron happy
Shere-Akrhan’s always repping
Tiger stripes and tire treads

Tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m all red
Tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m dressed
In tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m repping Akron
In tiger stripes and tire treads

When in Rome
Wish you were in West Akron
Watching Rocky
Ali vs. Wepner
The Cavs, Price, Nance, Daugherty and Ron Harper
Tear down the fist-pump poster
Ehlo means more than that buzzer
The Coliseum of Richfield, butter
And at Swenson’s I get filler
On a Galley Boy burger
Slurp it down with a California
Pops opened shop as a drive-in
Right there on the corner
South Hawkins and Market
Sorry it took me till now to tell – ya

Tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m all red
Tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m dressed
In tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m repping Akron
In tiger stripes and tire treads

Tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m all red
Tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m dressed
In tiger stripes and tire treads
Shere-Akrhan, I’m repping Akron
In tiger stripes and tire treads
