Lately – I’ve been saying
“Hi I’m alive and well,
It feels dry and well”
Now I shake my mind
To flicker a light – who needs a bell
To tell us we are divided and well
We got to rise then stick together like glue
‘Cause this time has gotten quicker with the years
It waves right through my hair
I’ll get wind and get through
I promise that’s in the bucket
I never liked lists
So I pour it all out every day, time is due
Ignoring all the fog, time after time I got dissed
Didn’t know I had something to prove
And I adventure through the dark
With nothing ever missed
Maybe my mind has gone a little crazy
Sometimes it feels like I’ve never been kissed
When life is out of tune
The days and years are phase – y
Yesterday’s not worth being pissed
And I promise to you
The signs are yours to choose

This Ballad is a Shout Out
To the one’s with their heads down
We’re speaking strings, bold & stout
Writing a story over the bleached walls
We’re standing tall leaning on the sunlight and the night fall
Cool from deep down, deep down
We’ll be ready when it calls
As Kings, Queens and Pawns
‘Cause we got nothing to lose

Sometimes we feel out of touch
Or that a wall needs a punch
Other times my brother needs a crutch
Even if lately it too much seems never enough
It’s not hard to stand up and lean on me
Having a back can beat tough
Mornings get cold and the concrete is rough
But standing on a bus seems strange
So I walk miles to the train
Flashbacks of crashes of growing up
Blocks of happiness behind
Thunder and lightning, wind and rain
The lamppost flickers
I see myself running and jumping and such
Shirt stains with pbj & fruit punch
Blocks of happiness remain
In the day and nighttime
Back to the right time
The school yards got kids, Double Dutch
Planets, stars & moons guide
As three musketeers and a royal flush
Natural power is grand
Walking out to the end of the pier
A simple life can be a rush
Yet I got this urge to unlock the cage
And open up a gate rusted shut
I’ll need a cloak and a staff
For the magic of a mage
To get by the latch
Sometimes it leads to a journey
Or another fire to throw a match
Other times back to reality
Where I walk off the flat atlas we’ve created
What’s with the attitude, can’t last, bad bash
The book’s pages are burning
Devolution of an age
Piles of trash are our mask
But I’m pushing back
Why don’t you?
