While I fall to the ground
I bite on my tongue
And the concrete on my face feels like steel
It’s the first time in months
These cold chills have felt real
It’s the first time in months
I’ve felt warmth in the chest
With each breathe in my lungs
It’s the first time in months
Everyday doesn’t feel numb
It’s the first time in months
Everyday doesn’t feel numb

Why am I always the last?
I’m so late to catch on
Tired of missing the ‘Once in a Lifetime’ bus
Is the time worth the bust?
My feet don’t fit in the grooves
I choose the untouched tracks covered in rust
As I step closer to the line
I feel like a pawn
With all the other pieces moves
Except my own
A deer in headlights, slow motion fun
Staring down a telescope of my life
What a powerful trigger like a gun
Getting sharper than a knife
I choose to flip it around; over the setting sun
Into the moonlight
So much starts when all is said and done

While I fall to the ground
I bite on my tongue
And the concrete on my face feels like steel
It’s the first time in months
These cold chills have felt real
It’s the first time in months
I’ve felt warmth in the chest
With each breathe in my lungs
It’s the first time in months
Everyday doesn’t feel numb
It’s the first time in months
Everyday doesn’t feel numb

While I fall to the ground
I bite on my tongue
And the concrete on my face feels like steel
It’s the first time in months
These cold chills have felt real
It’s the first time in months
I’ve felt warmth in the chest
With each breathe in my lungs
It’s the first time in months
Everyday doesn’t feel numb
It’s the first time in months
Everyday doesn’t feel numb
